Guatemala's coffee industry is highly regarded for its traditional farming practices and the high quality of its beans. With a strong emphasis on tradition and a commitment to excellence, coffee production plays a significant role in the country's cultural heritage. Small family-owned farms in the central highlands cultivate Arabica beans under the shade of trees, promoting environmental sustainability and reducing the reliance on chemical agents. Hand harvesting and traditional wet milling methods are commonly used to process the beans. The coffee fruit produced in the mountainous regions of Guatemala is prized for its diverse and robust flavor profile. Coupled with the optimal growing conditions and volcanic soil, Guatemalan coffee offers a multitude of flavors and is highly esteemed in the industry.
The Washed Coffee Process
Considered the most coffee forward method of extracting coffee beans from the cherry using water and agitators. This process results in arguably the cleanest coffee taste.
